This policy applies to all employees, suppliers, contractors, and business partners associated with RCN.

3. Scope of Policy

This policy applies to:

  • All employees (permanent, temporary, part-time, and freelance).
  • Suppliers, vendors, and contractors providing goods or services.
  • Business partners engaging in activities with RCN.
  • Stakeholders involved in the procurement of materials, resources, or services.

4. Compliance and Due Diligence

To ensure compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015, RCN will:

  • Conduct due diligence on new suppliers and service providers before engagement.
  • Assess and monitor supply chain risks related to modern slavery.
  • Require all suppliers and contractors to adhere to our Supplier Code of Conduct, which includes commitments to anti-slavery measures.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff to recognise and report signs of modern slavery.
  • Ensure all employment relationships are voluntary and based on fair terms.

5. Recruitment and Employment Practices

RCN follows strict recruitment procedures to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking, including:

  • Verifying the identity and legal right to work of all employees.
  • Ensuring fair wages, working hours, and working conditions in line with UK employment laws.
  • Prohibiting child labour, forced labour, and exploitative working conditions.
  • Protecting whistle-blowers who report concerns related to modern slavery.

6. Supply Chain Management

RCN is committed to working only with suppliers and contractors who align with our values. We require all suppliers to:

  • Sign and comply with our Ethical Procurement Policy.
  • Ensure fair labour practices in their business operations.
  • Provide evidence of compliance with anti-slavery regulations upon request.

7. Reporting Concerns

Employees, suppliers, and stakeholders are encouraged to report concerns related to modern slavery through our confidential reporting system. Any reports of unethical labour practices will be promptly investigated, and appropriate action will be taken.

8. Monitoring and Review

RCN will regularly review this policy to ensure its effectiveness. Updates will be made in response to legislative changes, industry best practices, and any identified risks. This policy is reviewed annually and approved by senior management.

9. Approval & Implementation

This policy is approved by the Director of Radiant Catalyst Nursery and applies to all staff, suppliers, and business partners.
